Privacy Policy
SCImago Graphica is built to respect your privacy. We designed it so that your data stays with you: your datasets and visualizations are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to, stored on, or shared by our servers. This page explains the little information we handle and why.
Your data stays in your browser
When you load a dataset or build a visualization, everything happens locally in your browser. Your files, datasets, and projects are stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage) and are saved there automatically, so you can pick up where you left off. We never receive, store, or have access to the contents of your data. Project files (.gph) are created only when you choose to export, and they are saved to your device — not to us.
Images from the web
If your data links to images on the web (for example, a photo or a flag for each mark), your browser downloads them directly from the websites that host them, as it would on any other page. Those websites see an ordinary request from your browser, including your IP address, and their own privacy policies apply. When a website doesn't allow its images to be used this way, the image is fetched through our server instead: it receives the image's address, passes the image on to your browser, and keeps no copy. This is the only case in which any part of your data reaches our server.
No accounts, no personal data
You don't need to create an account or sign in to use SCImago Graphica. We don't ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information, and we don't collect or store any personally identifiable information about you.
Analytics
To understand how the website is used and to improve it, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first, open-source analytics tool. Plausible:
- does not use cookies and does not store anything on your device;
- does not collect any personal data or personally identifiable information;
- does not track you across websites or build a profile of you over time;
- reports only aggregated metrics (such as page views and referring sites) that cannot be used to identify you.

Cookies
We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising. The app uses your browser's local storage to save your work on your device; this stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Sharing your data
We don't sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. There is nothing to share: we don't collect your datasets, and our analytics contain no personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
