Diverging bar chart

A divergent bar chart allows you to compare how the quantitative values associated with two categories are distributed. The bars of one category are shown from right to left, while the bars of the other category are shown in the opposite direction.

In Scimago Graphica, creating a diverging bar chart is very simple.

In mark type you must select the bars.

To one of the axes you must link the categorical variable that divides the values into intervals. To the other axis you must link the dichotomous categorical variable and the quantitative variable.

In the scale options of the quantitative variable you must check "Reversed scale", and then choose which axes should be reversed (the first one).
